15 Brands Like Club L London for Glamorous Party Outfits

Spencer Lanoue·11 min readUpdated August 5, 2026

The dress you want for Saturday costs $130, ships in five days, and turns up in two other people's stories that same night. Occasion wear moves fast enough that one bookmarked site stops covering it, especially once you've scrolled the same 40 bodycon minis twice.

Club L London has been designing this category since 2007 from Manchester, and its US site ships from a US warehouse with customs and duties included. Below are 15 brands selling the same kind of dress, with the price each one charges and the countries each one will post to.

A word on prices first. Party wear runs on markdowns, so several of the catalogues below were mid-promotion when we checked them. We've quoted the full RRP and flagged the discount separately, because the sale price you see today probably isn't the sale price next week. We've also stated the currency every time, and converted nothing.

Quick comparison: every brand here sells occasion dresses you can buy direct. The differences that matter are price, the country you're ordering from, and how heavily the site discounts.

PrettyLittleThing

PrettyLittleThing

PrettyLittleThing is the biggest catalogue on this list, and the shape of it has changed. Its product sitemap runs to just under 50,000 items, and the slugs name whose stock sits behind it. Boohoo accounts for 13,475 of them, with Karen Millen, Coast, Wallis, Dorothy Perkins, Oasis and Warehouse filling much of the rest. PLT now sells the wider group's labels alongside its own.

That's good news if you want a sequin dress tonight and don't mind which name is on the label. The Wallis Satin Sequin Flower Midi Dress lists at £70 and was showing £21 when we checked, which is the kind of gap you'll find across the party section. Shop the US storefront at prettylittlething.us if you're ordering stateside. We compare the two biggest fast-fashion party sites in PrettyLittleThing vs Fashion Nova.

Missguided

Missguided

Missguided trades again, under new ownership. Shein acquired the brand from Frasers Group in October 2023 and runs it through SUMWON Studios, a joint venture with founder Nitin Passi, selling through both missguided.com and Shein's own sites. The homepage now redirects to a market path, with UK and US markets both live.

The dress range reads exactly as it did before the sale: polka-dot ruched maxis, tiger-print mesh cowl necks, tiered minis with lace and fringe trim. Prices load in the browser rather than the page source, so we couldn't verify a figure and won't quote one. Treat it as the budget end of this list and check the number on the product page before you commit.

MESHKI

MESHKI is the closest aesthetic match to Club L London on this list. Founded in 2013 by two architecture students and designed in Sydney, it sells slinky maxis, corseted minis and knit chiffon in the same figure-tracing register, at $89 to $305 USD with a median around $145.

What separates it from the fast-fashion picks is the discounting, or the lack of it. Of 119 dresses on the first catalogue page, 118 were in stock and every one was at full price. The Electra Slinky Lace Maxi Dress runs $135 and the Grayson Knit Chiffon Mini Dress $145. US standard shipping costs $9.99 and drops to free over $130, and the site posts to the US and Canada. For the wider picture, see dress brands like Meshki.

House of CB

House of CB is the London label to reach for when the dress has to hold its own shape. Its hand-beaded pieces sit well above Club L: the Anisa Jade Hand-Beaded Embellished Strapless Maxi Dress is £269 GBP and the Santana Almond Georgette Hand-Beaded Shell Embellished Maxi Dress is £299 GBP.

Corsetry is the point here. Boning, structured cups and a fit that does the work instead of the shapewear are what you're paying the extra for, and they're what the £30 version can't copy. The site quotes in GBP even with a US country parameter set, so budget for the exchange rate and any duty on top. We put it head to head with its nearest rival in House of CB vs Oh Polly.

Nadine Merabi

Nadine Merabi is the top of this list by some distance. The British label has been trading since 2015 and now has a London store, and it sells hand-embellished dresses and jumpsuits built for weddings, birthdays and the kind of event that gets photographed. Its US site prices them at $395 to $865 USD with a median of $545.

The catalogue moves a lot. A summer sale banded at 20% to 70% was running when we checked, and 56 of 117 available dresses sat on markdown, so the range you see depends on the week you look. The Laura Navy Dress opens the line at $395 and the Lola Navy Dress runs $575. Order from us.nadinemerabi.com for USD pricing, or the .com for GBP.

Lulus

Lulus covers the occasions Club L doesn't lead with, which mostly means weddings. Cocktail, wedding-guest, bridesmaid, prom and homecoming each get their own category, and the going-out section sits alongside them at $55 to $79 USD.

The Caia Light Blue Sequin Drop Waist Mini Dress lists at $79 and was showing $63.20 under a 20% promotion when we checked, and that discount ran across the cocktail category rather than a handful of styles. Lulus blocks basic requests with a 403, so it looks dead to automated checks while trading normally in a browser. It publishes an international shipping page and a separate international returns policy, so it posts outside the US too. See how it stacks up against the high street in Lulus vs Zara.

Nasty Gal

Nasty Gal

Nasty Gal serves a US storefront and leans harder into faux leather, mesh and metallic than the rest of the group it belongs to. The Warehouse Sequin Column Midi Dress carries an RRP of $205 and was listed at $75.

Worth knowing before you open four tabs: that dress carries SKU bww09048, and the identical SKU appears on Misspap at £29 against a £79 RRP. Nasty Gal, PrettyLittleThing, boohoo and Misspap now draw on one shared catalogue, so shopping all four gets you the same dresses at different markdowns rather than four different ranges. Pick the storefront that prices in your currency and stop there.

Boohoo

Boohoo

Boohoo is the cheapest way onto a dance floor in a new dress. Its UK navigation was running "Up to 70% Off" and a "Dresses under £10" edit when we looked, and the party section carries third-party labels including Jolie Moi, AX Paris, Gini London, Liquorish and Blue Vanilla alongside boohoo's own.

Read the RRP rather than the sticker. The Divine Grace Pink Sequin Flare Sleeve Dress shows £51 against an £85 list price, which is a real saving and also a reminder that the £85 was the number the site set itself. The .com prices in GBP for the UK. US shoppers should use us.boohoo.com, which carries the same stock in dollars.

In The Style

In The Style

In The Style is trading, though not as the influencer-collection business it was. Baaj Capital bought it for £1.2m in March 2023, and the site now runs 1,500 products: 210 available dresses, most of them Chi Chi London, plus 19 fragrance dupes and a full cosmetics range.

The dresses are the reason to visit. Chi Chi London does structured occasion florals and 3D-appliqué midis that read far more expensive than they cost, and the 3D Floral Dip Hem Dress lists at £110 GBP with £83 showing on the day. Dress RRPs run £20 to £110 with a median of £45, and all 210 in-stock dresses were discounted on the day, so the sticker sits below the list price. One hard limit: the delivery page offers UK standard at £3.99 and UK express at £5.99 and nothing else, so readers outside the UK can't order.

Oh Polly

Oh Polly

Oh Polly built its name on ruched bodycon and sculpting seams, and it's the pick if you want the Club L silhouette with a heavier hand on the fabric. The US site lists dresses at $70 to $195 USD, median $115, with 59 of 60 dresses in stock and 58 of those at full price.

The Sequin Lace Tie-Back Mini Dress is $125 and the Satin Sweetheart Bustier Fishtail Midaxi Dress is $100. The UK site tells a different story: the same catalogue carries markdowns like a Low Back Maxi Dress at £17 against a £55 RRP, so British shoppers get the bargains and American shoppers get the stock. Use us.ohpolly.com for USD. Our Oh Polly alternatives guide goes deeper on the category.

Selfie Leslie

Selfie Leslie is the one brand here you can shop without doing markdown maths. Across 176 dresses, 165 were in stock and all 165 were at full price, in a tight band of $79.99 to $129.99 USD with a median of $105.99.

The range covers the going-out end and the wedding-guest end without much overlap between them. The Après Off-Shoulder Mini Dress sits at $105.99 and the Bedouin Cowl-Back Lace-Hem Gown at $119.99, and shipping is free over $100. If sale-hunting across four fast-fashion sites for one dress sounds like work, this is the shortcut, and the flat pricing means the number you see is the number you pay.

Fashion Nova

Fashion Nova

Fashion Nova is the budget end of body-conscious dressing, with a dress range that runs from jacquard minis to cut-out bodycon and stops well short of Club L's embellishment. The 24 Karat Gold Strapless Jacquard Mini Dress came up at £28 GBP on the UK storefront we were served.

The site switches market by location, so a US visitor sees dollars on the same pages and gets free US shipping over $75. Sizing runs deep into plus, which is where it beats most of this list on range. We look at its production model in is Fashion Nova fast fashion, which examines what the brand publishes about its supply chain and what it leaves out.

Zara

Zara

Zara handles the events where a sequin bodycon would be too much. Its US dress catalogue prices between $59.90 and $89.90 USD, with the Satin Lace Halter Dress at $69.90, the Ruffled Mini Dress at $59.90 and the Frog Fastening Mini Dress at $89.90.

The tailoring is the draw. Zara cuts a satin slip or a column dress with cleaner lines than the party-wear specialists, which makes it the choice for a work party, a christening or a dinner where you'd like to sit down comfortably. The dresses category on the US site runs to hundreds of styles, and Zara ships to more countries than anything else on this list, which makes it the safe pick if you're ordering from somewhere the specialists ignore.

Revolve

REVOLVE

Revolve is a multi-brand retailer, not a label, and it's where this list tops out. The ELLIATT Astrid Dress is $319 USD at full price with no markdown applied, and the checkout states duties and taxes are included, which removes the customs surprise that catches people out on international occasion wear.

You're paying for the edit rather than the manufacturing. Revolve carries designer and contemporary labels you'd otherwise chase across a dozen sites, which is worth the premium for one standout piece and hard to justify for a Friday. Add currency=USD and country=US to the URL if the site serves you GBP by default. Our Revolve alternatives roundup covers cheaper routes to the same labels.

Nelly

Nelly is the Scandinavian answer to a night out, run by Nelly Group and selling mini dresses, co-ords and going-out separates with less shine and more cut than the British party sites.

Geography decides how much use you'll get from it. Nelly runs storefronts for the UK, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany and the Netherlands, and the US path returns a 404, so American readers can't order. Prices load in the browser rather than the page source, so we haven't quoted a figure. Expect mid-range rather than fast-fashion pricing, and check the number on the product page.

Picking One Instead of Opening Fifteen Tabs

Start with where you live. In The Style ships only within the UK, Nelly covers the UK, the Nordics, Germany and the Netherlands, and MESHKI posts to the US and Canada, so half this list rules itself out before you've looked at a dress.

Then decide how you feel about sale prices. PrettyLittleThing, boohoo and Nasty Gal share one catalogue and one discounting habit, so the dress is cheap and the RRP is a moving target. MESHKI and Selfie Leslie price flat and hold it. House of CB and Nadine Merabi charge for construction you can feel through the fabric, and Revolve charges for the label.

If you want the single closest substitute, it's MESHKI. If you want the cheapest way to a sequin dress by Saturday, it's boohoo. Everything between those two is a question of budget. For more in this category, our guide to brands like Princess Polly covers the trend-led end, and is Club L London fast fashion looks at what the brand publishes about how its dresses are made.
