What sets it apart from Twothirds is the Pre-Owned section on its own site, where previously worn Outerknown pieces go back on sale rather than into a bin. Shipping is free over $125. Best for: men's swim and shirting where you want a route to resell the piece later.
Patagonia
Patagonia builds its Wavefarer boardshorts from what its own product pages call NetPlus 100% postconsumer recycled nylon, made from recycled fishing nets to cut ocean plastic pollution. The same pages state the durable water repellent finish is made without intentionally added PFAS.
Patagonia's site blocks automated price checks, so we haven't quoted figures here. The range runs wider than Twothirds by a long way, covering wetsuits, walk shorts and rash guards alongside the mountain gear. Best for: a boardshort you can name the exact recycled input for.
Rapanui
Rapanui is a UK brand whose own site describes its clothing as made from organic and recycled materials in a renewable energy-powered factory, with free UK returns. Its circular model means a worn-out tee goes back to the factory and comes out as new stock instead of landfill.
The catalogue is tees, hoodies and sweats rather than swimwear, and prints lean into marine life. Prices sit in the mid-range tier, below Twothirds. Best for: everyday organic cotton with a send-back route at the end of its life.
Reformation
Reformation runs a 76-piece swim collection, priced on its UK storefront from £88 for the Amore Bikini Bottom to £198 for the Tala One Piece Swimsuit. The Pontia and Wailea one-pieces both list at £148.
Reformation designs to a trend calendar in a way Twothirds doesn't, so the cuts move season to season. The swim filters on its site include a sustainability facet alongside size and support level, which makes it quick to sort by material. Best for: a swimsuit you'd wear to a bar afterwards without changing.
Finisterre
Finisterre is a brand out of St Agnes in Cornwall that its own site describes as consciously built outerwear, hardy knits and year-round adventure essentials, born from a love of the sea. Finisterre UK Limited holds a B Corp certification with a B Impact score of 116.3, against a median of 50.9 for businesses that complete the assessment. Full prices run from £20 on women's bikini pants to £85 for the men's Spindrift Boardshort, with the Searcher Hybrid Short at £80.
Where Twothirds dresses for warm Mediterranean water, Finisterre kits you out for a grey Atlantic one, wetsuits included. It runs a repair service listed alongside the clothing. Best for: cold-water swimming and surfing in British conditions.
Veja
Veja sells sneakers, and on its US storefront the Etna in suede or leather lists at $140. Veja's own project pages describe sourcing rubber from Amazonian seringueiros, which is the material story that draws the same shopper Twothirds does.

Lemlem
Lemlem prices its swim separates at $95 to $135, with the Malia Triangle Top and Elsi High Waist Bottom both at $135 and the Rekka String Bottom at $105. Caftans and dresses run higher, up to $355 for the Belkis V Neck Caftan.
Lemlem's own site describes the label as artisan-driven, founded by Liya Kebede, with designs made in Africa by local artisans using handwoven cotton, and sales funding the lemlem Foundation's maternal health programmes. The colour is far louder than Twothirds. Best for: resort dressing where the weave itself is the point.
Seasalt Cornwall
Seasalt Cornwall is the one on this list you can walk into, with 85 shops across the UK plus more than 450 stockists elsewhere. A woven shirt sits around £50, with the Larissa Shirt listed at £49.95 before any markdown.

One thing to know before you click: its swimwear collection page is empty at the time of writing, so treat Girlfriend as the leggings and sports bra pick rather than a swim source. Carve Designs makes women's swimsuits, bikinis and UPF 50+ rash guards, and its own site headline describes the range as sustainable swimsuits and clothing. The Cruz and Dawson rash guards are its best-known styles.
Carve's site sits behind a bot wall that blocks our price checks, so we're quoting the tier rather than a figure: mid-range, under Twothirds on most pieces. Cuts are built for paddling and swimming instead of lying still. Best for: sun cover you can surf in.
Vissla
Vissla prices boardshorts at $60 for the Seedling 16.5" Ecolastic and $70 for the Seedling 18.5", with 7 Seas wetsuits running $219.95 to $409.95 for the North Seas 5.5-4.5 hooded chest zip. Its own store description covers boardshorts, wetsuits, surf tees and surfboards under a sustainable surf products line.
Vissla is a surf company first and a lifestyle label second, which flips the Twothirds balance. The catalogue is deep enough that a wetsuit, a rash guard and trunks all come from one basket. Best for: someone who's in the water rather than beside it.
The Great
The Great is a Los Angeles ready-to-wear label by Emily Current and Meritt Elliott, with tees from $80 for the Little Boxy Crew up to $145 for the Boxy Crew, and dresses reaching $495 for the Legacy Dress.
Be clear on what this one is: there's no swim collection at the moment, so it's the cover-up, sundress and worn-in tee half of a beach wardrobe. Prices sit above Twothirds. Best for: what you throw on over a wet swimsuit and keep wearing all evening.
Ecoalf
Ecoalf publishes the hardest number on this page. Its Upcycling the Oceans project, running since 2015, reports 2.1 million kilograms of waste pulled off the sea bed with 4,775 fishermen across Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Egypt. Recovered bottles become Ocean Yarn, a 100% recycled polyester used in outerwear, footwear and accessories.
On its UK site women's tees run £27 to £45 and the jackets top out at £179.90. Ecoalf and Twothirds are both Spanish, and Ecoalf's cut is the more urban of the two. Best for: traceable recycled polyester with the collection data published behind it.
Vitamin A Swim
Vitamin A describes itself as sustainably produced luxury swimwear designed in California, and the one-pieces run $165 to $190, with the Nova at $165 and the Ada Underwire at $190. The Soleil Sarong in cotton cupro is $95.
Its fabric names sit right in the product titles, so EcoLux, EcoRib and EcoShimmer tell you what you're buying before you open the page. Prana
prAna carries dedicated swim sections for women and men, split into tops, bottoms, one pieces and cover-ups, sitting alongside the yoga, hiking and climbing clothing the brand is better known for. Shipping is free with no minimum order.
The site serves a challenge page to automated checks, so we've left prices out rather than quote a number we can't stand behind. The tier is mid-range. Where Twothirds is a coastal label, prAna is an all-terrain one that happens to sell swim. Best for: a trip that includes a beach and a trailhead.
Summersalt
Summersalt lists more than 250 designer swimwear styles on its own site, priced from $65 for the Tide Scoop Neck Bikini Top through $95 for the Long Torso Wave one-piece to $135 for the Seascape Sweetheart. Cover-up skirts sit at $75.
Fit is the pitch here, with long-torso versions of the one-pieces built as separate styles instead of a size tweak. The catalogue reaches further than Twothirds on swim alone. Best for: finding a shape that fits when standard one-piece lengths don't.
Marine Layer
Marine Layer is a San Francisco brand whose own site sums the range up as absurdly soft clothes that are good for people and the planet. The 5" Vintage Swim Trunk is $94, and the wider catalogue runs up through $118 woven shirts to $128 sweaters.
The swim range is small, at fewer than 30 pieces, so come here for the soft cotton layers around it as much as the trunks. It reads Californian where Twothirds reads Mediterranean. Best for: the tee and trunk combination you live in all August.
Faherty
Faherty prices the Shorelite Trunk (7") at $118 and the Surf Ghana Long-Sleeve Rash Guard at $128, with the Biarritz Boardshort listed at $118 full price. Its organic and regenerative cotton tees run $78.
Faherty covers both a beach kit and the shirting to go over it, which few brands here manage. Note the domain: faherty.com redirects to fahertybrand.com, so bookmark the second one. Best for: a trunk and shirt bought in one order.
Where to Start Depending on What You're Buying
Work backwards from the water. For cold Atlantic swimming, Finisterre and Vissla are the two with wetsuits on the shelf. For a one-piece you'll wear for years, Vitamin A and Summersalt sit at the two ends of the price band, $165 against $95.
If the recycled-material claim is what pulled you to Twothirds, Ecoalf publishes the most checkable version of it, down to the kilograms recovered and the number of fishermen involved. For everyday cotton with somewhere to send the worn-out shirt, Rapanui is the cheapest way in.
