9 Brands Like Fable England for Printed Bags and Jewellery

Spencer Lanoue·7 min readUpdated August 14, 2026

Fable England built its following on one trick done well. A hand-drawn hare, a fox or a sprig of blossom gets printed or embroidered onto a vegan-leather bag that still reads as a grown-up handbag rather than a novelty. Add the enamel jewellery and the printed scarves and you've got a full storybook wardrobe from a single British label.

The limit is that it's one design team with one house style, so once you own two bags you can see where the ideas go. These nine brands work the same seam of printed bags and illustrated jewellery, and between them they run from £3 earrings to a £135 statement necklace.

Cath Kidston

Cath Kidston is the closest print-for-print match to Fable England and the one with the most tangled ownership story. The label went into administration twice, and Next bought the intellectual property for £8.5m in 2023. It now trades as a digital-first brand inside Next rather than a standalone shop, so cathkidston.com redirects and there's no separate store to visit.

The bags are the reason to follow it there. A Black Butterfly Embroidered Backpack runs £65, a Navy Paddington Stripe Cross-Body Bag £44, and a Navy Wallace and Gromit Card and Coin Purse £22. What you don't get is jewellery. Fable England pairs its bags with enamel lockets and charms, and the Cath Kidston range stops at bags and purses, so treat it as the bag half of the wardrobe.

Best for: printed and embroidered bags under £70.

Accessorize

Accessorize covers the entire Fable England product list in one basket, selling bags, jewellery, scarves and bag charms at prices that undercut Fable by a wide margin. A Rio Canvas Shopper Bag in leopard is £38 and a Fringe Suede Shoulder Bag £75, while earrings start at £3 and reach about £24 for gold-plated pieces like the 14ct Gold-Plated Aventurine Drop Earrings.

The design voice is high-street rather than illustrated storybook, so expect fewer hand-drawn hares and more seasonal trend pieces. Parent company Adena Brands, which also owns Monsoon, reported a return to profit in the year to 30 August 2025. American readers should know there's no US retail presence, so you're ordering internationally from the UK warehouse.

Best for: filling a whole accessories drawer in one order.

White Stuff

White Stuff does the embroidery that Fable England fans are after, and it's the easiest brand here to buy from if you're in the States. The Bella Embroidered Bag is £79 in the UK and $160 on the US site, and the Sophia Leather Crossbody runs £69 or $130. Free US delivery starts over $150.

The jewellery leans literal in the best way. A Nell Dog Necklace at £25 and a Heart Bag Charm at £18.50 sit in the same charm-and-motif territory as Fable's enamel pieces, at roughly half the outlay. TFG London, which also owns Hobbs and Whistles, bought White Stuff in October 2024, and the brand contributed £81m of turnover and £4.5m of profit in the year to March 2025.

Best for: embroidered bags with local US pricing.

Seasalt Cornwall

Seasalt Cornwall is the only brand here with an own-brand jewellery line built from ceramic and resin, which puts it closest to Fable England's enamel work. The Trenninow Ceramic Bead Necklace is £29.95 and the Trebah Drop Earrings £22.95. Bags run from a £49.95 Janelle Waterproof Cross Body up to a £120 Annet Suede Shoulder Bag, and the Pentillie Scarf sits at £29.95.

The prints are Cornish rather than storybook, so you get harbours and hedgerows in place of foxes in waistcoats. The company is still owned by the Chadwick family and turned over £149.3m in the year to 1 February 2025, up 13%. One thing to flag for American readers: Seasalt closed all four of its US stores in May 2026 and now sells there through Nordstrom and Belk, or ships internationally.

Best for: own-brand jewellery under £30.

Vera Bradley

Vera Bradley pushes the printed-bag idea further than Fable England does, covering the whole bag in quilted patterned cotton instead of placing one motif on a plain ground. The Hathaway Tote Bag is $120 and the licensed prints climb from there, with a Hello Kitty and Friends Small Original Vera Tote at $155. Square silk scarves list at $50.

This is the American answer to the category, listed on the NASDAQ and going through a brand overhaul with new stores and a new logo. Its jewellery spends a lot of time on markdown, so check the list price before you judge the value. UK shoppers need international.verabradley.com, because the main US site won't ship across the Atlantic.

Best for: all-over pattern and US shipping.

Joules

Joules is the silk scarf pick. The Highgrove Blue and Green Floral 100% Silk Skinny Scarf is £20 and the Bloomfield Navy Jonty Silk Square Scarf £45, which is real silk at a price Fable England's printed scarves have to compete with. Bags cluster at £39, including the Trent Tan Brown Cross Body Bag, with a Coast Navy Duffle Bag at £70.

One caveat on the jewellery. The Joules site sells plenty of it, but the pieces are third-party labels like Ottoman Hands and Minerva at £42 to £152, so it isn't the house design voice you came for. Joules went into administration in November 2022 and Next bought the majority of its assets for £34m the following month, which is why the UK site won't ship abroad. American readers order Joules through Next instead.

Best for: real silk scarves under £50.

Erstwilder

Erstwilder makes the most literal storybook jewellery on this list. The Melbourne brand layers cut resin into brooches of animals and food, and the names carry the joke, like a Puss in Books Brooch at AUD $54.95 or a Fairy Bread Brooch at AUD $49.95. Neck scarves are AUD $39.95 and head scarves AUD $24.95, so the scarf side is covered too.

There are no bags, which is the obvious gap against Fable England. What you get instead is a brooch collection with the same narrative streak as a Fable locket, done in much bolder colour. Orders ship from Australia with free international delivery over AUD $130, and the site will show you GBP or USD so you don't have to do the maths yourself.

Best for: statement brooches with a story.

Olivia Burton

Olivia Burton works the same nature-motif seam as Fable England's jewellery, with bees and florals in gold plate alongside a celestial range. Classic Gold Multi Hoop Earrings are £70 and a Classic Entwine Gold Necklace £105, which puts it a step above Fable's enamel pricing. Watches are the brand's core, starting around $185 for a Classic 16mm Mini Grove Gold Bracelet Watch on the US site.

There are no handbags, and at the time of writing no scarves in stock despite the category name. Movado Group has owned the brand since 2017, and it runs separate UK and US storefronts so you pay in your own currency without a conversion.

Best for: bee and floral jewellery in gold plate.

Tatty Devine

Tatty Devine is the London label that made laser-cut acrylic jewellery a thing, and it's still run by its founders, Harriet Vine and Rosie Wolfenden. Pieces are made in Britain and priced accordingly, from a £30 Needle Threader Necklace to a £48 Ric Rac Necklace in red and a £125 Zip Necklace in gold.

The humour is sharper and more graphic than Fable England's painterly illustration, so it suits you if you want the storytelling without the florals. The brand lost its Covent Garden shop when the lease was terminated and is looking for a new site, though the online business carries on with worldwide shipping and duties included in the shipping price.

Best for: handmade British statement necklaces.

How to Choose the Right Brand for You

Start with the piece you wear most. If it's the bag, Cath Kidston and Vera Bradley give you the most pattern for the money, and White Stuff gives you embroidery with a proper US storefront. If it's the jewellery, Seasalt Cornwall undercuts the rest of this list on own-brand pieces, while Tatty Devine and Erstwilder go the other way on craft, colour and price.

Geography matters more here than it usually does. The Joules UK site won't ship abroad at all, Vera Bradley splits its US and international stores, Accessorize posts everything from one UK warehouse, and Erstwilder ships from Australia. Check the delivery page before you fill a basket.
