11 Brands Like Angela Roi for Ethical Vegan Handbags
Searching for a second vegan bag is a slog. Half the shops that come back have no stock behind the product grid, and half the labels turn out to be one dropshipper wearing three names. You want the thing you liked about Angela Roi in the first place, which is a clean shape, a material that isn't animal skin, and a shop that still ships.
We checked. Every brand here was opened on its own website in August 2026, and we looked at what it sells, what the bag is made of, who holds the certification it names, and whether the shop still has stock. Eleven made it through.

Matt & Nat
Matt & Nat is the Montreal label that made vegan bags normal, and it currently lists 464 handbags on its own store. The NINA Tote (CAD $295) is cut from UPPEAL, an apple-waste leather alternative, and the same material runs through the ADRIA and SILVA satchels at CAD $295 and CAD $275.
What you get here that you don't get from Angela Roi is sheer choice. There are 99 crossbodies, 43 totes and 35 satchels live at once, so a colour you like is usually in more than one shape. Full-price bags in stock run CAD $85 to CAD $295, and the shop quotes in Canadian dollars by default with US, UK, Australian and euro switches in the header.
Best for: someone who wants the shape they've pictured rather than the shape that happens to be in stock. Browse the full handbag range before you commit, because the sale section is enormous and the same bag often appears twice.
Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney is the one brand on this list that states the claim outright on its own product page: "All Stella McCartney designer handbags are 100% vegan." The Falabella family runs from £540 for the Wallet Crossbody up to £995 for the Fold-Over Tote on the UK site.
The Falabella chain trim is the reason people buy it, and it's also the reason it reads louder than anything in Angela Roi's line. If you want the ethics without the recognisable hardware, the Ryder Crossbody (£895) is the quieter option in the same material.

Corkor
Corkor makes its bags from Portuguese cork and calls the material a "Cruelty Free Alternative to Leather" on its homepage. Thirteen women's handbags are live, including a Tote Bag (USD $159.50) and a Satchel Bag (USD $167), with the plain Crossbody Bag at USD $74.
Cork behaves differently from the coated fabrics everywhere else on this list. It's light, it shrugs off rain, and it has a visible grain that stops the bag looking like plastic. The flip side is a warm, speckled brown finish, so if your wardrobe is built on black this may not slot in.
Best for: readers who liked Angela Roi's restraint but want a natural texture. The women's cork handbag collection is small enough to read in one sitting.
Nanushka
Nanushka is the Budapest house founded by Sandra Sándor, and its bags sit inside a named OKOBOR alt-leather line rather than under a blanket vegan promise. That distinction matters, because Nanushka also works in wool and silk elsewhere in the collection, so the material claim attaches to the line and not to the label.
The look is the softest on this list. Where Angela Roi builds structure, Nanushka lets the panel slouch, which reads well over a coat and less well as a work bag. Its shop sits behind a bot check that blocked our price reads, so we're leaving the figures out rather than quoting numbers we couldn't see on the page.

Wills Vegan Store
Wills Vegan Store is a British brand that prints "Always and forever vegan" on its product pages and makes its Italian vegan leather with bio oil sourced from organic cereal crops. The Saddle Bag (USD $131) and the Mini Satchel (USD $181) are the two closest in spirit to Angela Roi.
Read the catalogue and this is a shoe brand with a good bag line attached. Of 390 products, 16 are bags, satchels or purses and the rest is footwear and outerwear. The bag range leans utilitarian, so expect briefcases and messengers alongside the saddle shapes.
Best for: pairing a bag with boots from the same shop and one shipping charge. Stock moves in small runs, and the Mini Satchel was awaiting a restock when we checked.
Vegan Leather Co.
Vegan Leather Co. is an Australian label working almost entirely in cactus leather, and its 77-product catalogue is bags, wallets and belts with nothing else in it. The Rebel (AUD $349) pairs cactus leather with canvas, and the Weekender runs AUD $499 in the same combination or AUD $649 in full cactus leather.
Cactus leather has a drier hand than the polyurethane finishes most of this list uses, closer to a matte nubuck. The range is narrow and the colours are dark, mostly night, midnight and forest, which is either the appeal or the dealbreaker.
Best for: a weekend bag rather than a day bag. Prices are in Australian dollars and international shipping is quoted at checkout, so factor that in before comparing against a US listing.
HFS Collective
HFS Collective sews its bags at a family-run factory in Los Angeles and states on its sustainability page that "the materials we use for our bags are PETA-approved". The Piñatex collection runs from a Water Bottle Bag at USD $138 to the Gigi Tassel Bag at USD $420, with the Convertible Crossbody in black Piñatex at USD $233.
One detail worth reading closely. HFS names Oeko-Tex Standard 100 on its materials glossary, and that certification belongs to its eco suede and its vegan leathers, not to the company. The brand words it that way itself, which is more than most do.
Best for: small, hands-free shapes. Belt bags and crossbody pouches are the core here, so this is the pick if your Angela Roi bag is the one you carry when you don't want to carry much.
Sans Beast
Sans Beast was set up in Brunswick, Victoria by Cathryn Wills in 2017, and its about page puts the position plainly: "We believe in striving for a kinder world, where animals are not exploited for our food or fashion." The Rendezvous Tote is AUD $218 and the Mini Sanctuary crossbody is AUD $97.
Its materials page names Oleatex, a Turkish biobased leather alternative made from olive industry waste and a bio-polyurethane from soy and corn. Uppeal appleskin turns up too, at 25% apple material on a poly-cotton base. Sans Beast publishes those percentages, which few brands in this category do.
Best for: colour. Of 111 products, 108 had stock when we looked, and the palette runs well past the black-and-tan default.
Melie Bianco
Melie Bianco titles its own homepage "Cruelty Free Vegan Leather Bags and Handbags", and it's the most reliably in-stock shop on this list, with 310 of 317 products available. The Carrie Pleated Shoulder Bag is USD $98 and the recycled-vegan Tulip Top Handle Bag runs USD $104, dropping to USD $64 in the mini.
This is the cheapest way into the shape Angela Roi charges USD $225 for. The trade is trend cycle. Melie Bianco moves fast on colour and hardware, so a bag you love in March may be gone by autumn.
Best for: buying two. At under USD $100 a bag you can have the black one and the bone one for less than a single mid-range purchase, which is a different way of thinking about cost per wear.
Svala
Svala is the smallest brand here, founded by Helga Douglas and listing 27 products in total. The Gaia Bag is USD $189 in Piñatex or gold-speckled cork, and the Simma Tote is USD $223 in MIRUM or USD $170 in cork.
Svala's fabrics page is the clearest on certification holders of anything we read. MIRUM is made by NFW and carries a USDA certification as 100% biobased. The coated canvas uses GOTS-certified organic cotton. Those certificates belong to the materials and their makers, and Svala says so instead of implying the company holds them.
Best for: a reader who wants to know exactly what the bag is made of. A catalogue this size sells out, so 18 of the 27 products had stock when we checked.
JW PEI
JW PEI is a Los Angeles label founded in 2018 that says each piece "is made from carefully selected vegan materials, including high-quality canvas, polyurethane, and certified recycled fabrics". The Gabbi Ruched Hobo is USD $103 and the Joy Woven Shoulder Bag is USD $145.
Note the wording on that certification. JW PEI says the recycled fabrics are certified, and it doesn't name the certifier or the standard, so treat it as a claim about the fabric supplier rather than a company credential you can look up.

Where to Start With Your Next Vegan Bag
Work backwards from the material, because that's what changes how the bag ages. Coated polyurethane finishes hold their shape and wipe clean, which is why Melie Bianco and JW PEI can sell you a good-looking bag for under USD $150. Cork and Piñatex and cactus leather cost more and behave less like leather, and the texture is the point.
On the ethics, read who holds the certificate. A supplier's Oeko-Tex or USDA certificate is a real thing about a real fabric, and it isn't a company credential. HFS Collective and Svala both spell that out, and that's a useful test to run on any brand you find yourself.
